Trip Report

Ingalls Creek — Saturday, May. 29, 2021

Central Cascades > Blewett Pass

Parking
Arrived at the parking lot around 9:30 AM on a Saturday on Memorial Day weekend - probably about 20 or so cars already in the lot, but still plenty of space available.

Trail Conditions
There are some small creek crossings but totally doable without getting your feet wet.  A little mud is also inevitable but nothing that will come up over your ankle.

Campsites
We were only there for a day hike, but we saw plenty of available campsites, some less than a mile into the hike.  The ones right up on the creek looked the best!

Other Notes
The weather was great, but there are decent stretches of exposed areas so I recommend bringing suitable sun protection.

Wildflowers are visible from the very start of the trail, and we counted 15 types, but we're just amateur botanists!

The creek is really gushing with water and quite loud!  When the trail gets close to the creek, you have to shout to talk to anyone.

Didn't see any rattlers on the way in, but saw one around maybe the 3 mile mark under a log.  Did not see the one previously reported on the 2 mile mark, but other hikers on the way in informed us that they saw it.

We went in until the Falls Creek crossing  - note: there isn't really any scenic place to break here, so we backtracked a bit to have lunch on the riverbank.

I would recommend going down by the creek at several access points to admire the mountain view.
