The trail is still covered in snow basically starting at the trailhead. There are few snow free patches along the trail but 99% is snow covered and difficult to pass. We didn’t end up going all the way to the lake because of how much snow there was but it was still a beautiful and very fun hike. We fell many times but thankfully the snow is forgiving and no one got hurt. Be safe. I don’t recommend that anyone attempt this that isn’t experienced with hiking in snow conditions. It’ll be awhile yet before you can get to the lake without hiking on snow

Hi! I’m pretty well versed in hiking in the snow and was just curious if you had spikes? Or if you think it would be easier to not be falling a lot with them and some polls?

Some sort of traction device should get you through most of that, from what the pictures depict. As the warmer weather comes, be aware of avalanches though the chutes. That would probably be your biggest concern.
