We got to the trailhead around 10:30 am on Monday (Memorial Day) and the lot was full. The trail was well maintained and it was a beautiful day. There are some steep portions where I was glad I had my poles to help stabilize myself. It wasn't too bad on the way up, but the skree on the way down made for some loose footing and even though I have good traction, my boots slid occasionally. There were some lovely flowers in bloom the higher we got to the top. Guessing by how many flowers were still budding, I imagine folks will get to see some of that beautiful purple flower at the top for at least another week or two (or more, I'm not a flower expert). This hike was really fun, had some lovely views, and was a real leg burner! Definitely repeat worthy.
