I hiked this on Saturday with my partner, and we arrived at the trailhead at 8:45am. The parking lot was fairly full, but there was a large hiking group that had just arrived as well leading to the fullness.
Lots of wildflowers blooming right now. There were a few logs down across the trail, but they were fairly easy to climb over. There were a handful of snow patches near the top. We didn’t wear spikes but I was thankful to have poles. Ended up sliding on my butt for most of them on the way down. There was also quite a bit of erosion at points near the top (not sure if it’s people cutting the switchbacks or just because it hasn’t been maintained this year).
The hike itself is a leg burner. The elevation gain was challenging, and most of the hike is fairly exposed so it was a fairly warm hike. Bring water and salty snacks! This hike is not for the faint if heart! We were exhausted by the time we reached the top, but the view was absolutely worth it. Incredible top-down look at Lake Wenatchee and beautiful views of the cascades to the north. A tough hike for sure, but the views were worth it at the end!
