Dungeness River Dike Trail — Thursday, Jun. 17, 2021

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast
Mountain view

We parked at the small lot on Towne Road between East Anderson Road and Woodcock Road in Sequim. At 14:00, the lot was about half full. There is another small lot a bit further south on Towne Rd. No trash can and no bathrooms at the trailhead.

We had a relaxed ramble about 2 miles south and back. There were dogs and kids wading in the river. We saw two bald eagles, and many wildflowers (but mostly daisies). A few ripe elderberries and salmonberries. Less than a mile from the parking lot, the forest opens up into a lovely mountain view.

The dirt trail was level and wide. We saw a stroller being pushed. Lots of dogs were being walked here. This is an easy and pleasant stroll.
