Diablo Lake — Monday, Jun. 21, 2021

Today was an absolute dream!! I’ve wanted to experience Lake Diablo for years and finally made it happen. Totally worth the drive and hike. I wish I had known the beach is only at the entrance of the park. I hiked in thinking I could swim after a hot 85 degree day and found no beach! I made the best of it and lounged on the boat ramp, entered from there, swimming and sunbathing until my dog had rested enough for the return hike. Once we completed the hike we returned to the lake at beach access (near parking lot) and swam again to cool off. It’s a beautiful hike and I totally recommend it! Just remember,  if it’s a hot day jump in the lake before you start your trek on the trail.
