Started at Williams Mine Trailhead. Abundant mosquitoes and they liked to bite. Just wanted a quick jaunt so hiked in about 3 miles, into the burned out section, which is stunningly beautiful with tons of bear grass, lupine, tiger lilies, and butterflies. Trail needs some serious maintenance. We had to cross 84 downed trees, ranging from 2 inch wide to tree that forced us off trail and around. Not surprisingly, it was worse in the burned out area.
