Blue Lake — Friday, Jul. 9, 2021

North Cascades > North Cascades Highway - Hwy 20

This is always a wonderful hike! 🤩

Wildflowers are just starting to bloom, as you get closer to the lake you really notice the Heather. Probably another week or 2 and it will be in full bloom.

The trail is in pretty good condition, no snow, a few spots with mud and the down trees have been cleared. A few trickling streams that were very easy to walk over. But...... the pesky mosquitoes 🦟 are horrible! Make sure to bring bug spray.

There were people, but not too many. When we arrived there were some cars parked along the highway, but not as bad as I've seen it. We did pass people periodically on the trail, but it wasn't continual. And everyone was friendly and courteous.

The day was clear, with beautiful blue skies, it was warm, but not too hot. All in all, a wonderful day (minus those pesky mosquitoes).

Hard to believe in less than 3 months it will be larch season again!

Happy Trails 👣 🌞
