Road in has potholes but is passable. Got to the talapus/olalie trailhead around 530 am on a sunny Saturday. Lot was almost full, probably from campers who spent the night as it seemed like we were the first there that morning. Many tents at Talapus and Olalie lakes.
Trail is in great shape except for a couple trees down which were not a problem to cross with a pack.
Got to Pratt around 7. Snagged a great spot next to the lake as the folks who stayed there the night before left right as we arrived. Otherwise I think there were not too many spots available.
Spent the morning swimming at Pratt as the water is quite warm and very pleasant in the sun. Visited tuscohatchie lake after lunch. Bushwhacked around to the waterfall on the far side which is cold and invigorating.
Swam and watched the sun go down at Pratt after dinner. Met many friendly people and their good dogs and shared some wine dessert and beer with other hikers. Two forest rangers stopped to chat. Everyone was very chill.
Bugs were there but fine with deet.
Overnight temps were very comfortable in a hammock with top/bottom quilts.
Up early for a dip in the lake before hiking out. Crowded trail coming back down. Parking was way down the road when we drove out around 11.
