We headed up the trail to Lodge lake and arrived about 2:00. We had no trouble finding the parking lot or trail. We hiked with our dog, and kids.
Please keep in mind that the “meadow” / area getting to where you start to head down to the lake is in direct sun with no shade, for a pretty good ways. I failed to realize we should’ve left earlier so we weren’t in the direct sun for so long, which eventually caused us to turn back. That said, we kept hearing there is shade & trees “just over there.” But, this is okay as it provided an opportunity for us to talk about our limits & knowing when to turn back.
There are lots of flowers out though & it’s not hard to get to the flowers if you want pictures. Mostly Indian paintbrush, some kind of Daisies & a purple flowers.
