Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River

Bugs, bugs, bugs and more bugs.  Suggest use of the most effective repellent that works for you.  In my case it was a thorough spraying with 12 hr Sawyer Picaradin at trailhead and at least two applications of Proven lotion while on trail.  I survived the day with only one minor insect bite.

Weather was perfect although the mountain was partially obscured by passing clouds.  There are a couple of boggy, muddy sections to navigate around but didn't pose much of a problem for us.   The FR road up is rough in places but I saw everything from Toyota Camry's to 4Runners on the route.

Wildflowers are past peak bloom but there are still spots of paintbrush, beargrass, Avalanche Lilly's, Phlox. Beautiful meadow.
