Amazing two day back packing trip.
Stayed the night at lost hat lake, no one else around, just eagles and marmots, magical.
Some snow to cross near the peak at the old lookout site, not hard to follow the route.
The amount of mosquitoes was insane, wore a head net and a gallon of Off, still got bit over a hundred bites. But so worth it.
Crossing the Clear Fork Cowlitz river was good, didn't really go over my knees.
The trail seems to be neglected but still good, both old and new blowdowns. I saw four people on horseback and two hikers.
This trail is quite amazing, lots of places to camp.
