3 baby Osprey at Marymoor park fledged today for the first time! What a treat to see. Last time I saw the babies was right before the scorching heat wave that got to 113 in Redmond. I thought for sure that babies couldn't survive that in an exposed nest with no shade. By some miracle all 3 survived and today was the day that 2 of them took flight for the first time.
The nest is located on a light post at the baseball field just north of the model plane field.

You should check them out. I suspect that they will be making practice runs for a few days before they leave the nest completely.

Actually, according to this website they hang out at the nest for two months after they learn to fly.
