Scott Paul Trail — Tuesday, Jul. 27, 2021

Hikes today with four friends, optimistic about the Rocky Creek crossing based on the trip report from 5 days ago. However the continued warm weather (significantly warmer than when I hiked Park Butte 5 days ago) has greatly increased the snow melt. We went clockwise on the loop and I noticed that first crossing of Rocky Creek, where the small foot bridge is up, was quite higher than before. The major crossing on the actual Scott Paul trail, absent the large bridge as noted by other reports, was not possible. We scouted up the creek but could not find a safe place to cross, so abandoned our plans and reversed direction for the trailhead.
