I arrived at the trailhead around 6:30am on Saturday. There were about a half dozen vehicles in the lot at that time. The trailhead toilet was in excellent condition, and someone had kindly left a pine tree air freshener hanging in at least one of the privies, to excellent effect.
The trail itself is very well maintained, aside from the mudslide. In circumnavigating the obstacle on the trail, I did momentarily lose the trail. I’d recommend downloading a trail map, just to make this one area easier to navigate.
Wildflowers and berries are in full display. Despite all the heat and lack of rain, the trail frequently crossed streams and water-proof hiking boots came in very handy.
