Southwest Washington > Columbia River Gorge - WA

First, I want to say thank you to the WTA crews that have been working on this trail recently. The trail is in GREAT condition!

There also seems to be evidence of bear activity on the lower trail. My husband saw a bear running across the highway about a mile from the trailhead last week, and today we saw both tracks and scat. I’ve hiked this trail frequently for the last five years and have never seen bears, so this was kind of surprising. Anyway, keep your eyes open, especially when passing the many blackberry patches on the road and lower trail.
