The drive to the trailhead is definitely the crux. The road off of 97 is called Ranch Creed Rd. You’ll shortly see an old sign for mountain home road and wedge mountain once you turn in. We did ok in a 4Runner, but I wouldn’t suggest anything lower. Plan your turn outs carefully! There’s few passing opportunities. I would not do this if there’s any precipitation forecasted.
the hike itself is pretty straightforward. Follow the path to the ridge, turn left and stay east of the ridge following meandering boot paths. Figuring out the final 100’ to the summit is a challenge but doable, we opted not to tag the summit. Great views of the enchantments!
