Smokey skies from cling track to Mt. Townsend

We hiked from Tubal Cain TH to spend two-nights at Buckhorn Lake.  Some bugs including a few horseflies so we spent much of our camp time in headnets. We woke the first morning dismayed to find smokey skies. Due to smoke we decided to only go part way up towards Mt. Townsend the next morning. So in lieu of going to the top we opted for following the less travelled trail but ended up doing a strenuous circle that connected the two climbing tracks that came from either side of Mt. Townsend. Likely too strenuous for the air quality at the time.
After the second night we headed out to the TH with the air only slightly improved.
Camping at Buckhorn Lake-Though secluded, the camping at Buckhorn Lake was pretty cramped littered with tp etc. and I would not choose to stay there again.

Deep red Indian Paintbrush were some of the few flowers still going.
