Talapus and Olallie Lakes — Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021

I enjoyed an overnight pack packing trip to Ollalie Lake with my Dad. Trail was in excellent condition. Insects were not bad. The lake was beautiful and warm enough to go for a swim.

Note:

1.) If you are proceeding past Ollalie to Pratt, be aware of a large, hornets nest somewhere in the middle of the trail which others have mentioned was problematic.

2.) If you are planning to overnight camp at Ollalie or Talapus, you may not get a premium campsite or a site at all, even if it is during the week. This is a very popular camping area and it was packed.
