Finding parking at the TH was not difficult, and there are day discover pass envelopes available at the kiosk. Walked the beach trail and the forest loop trail. Went to the beach first, which was a 100-foot descent over 0.2 miles. The beach itself does not have a path or trail, but you can walk along for some distance, collecting sea shells, checking out driftwood formations, and finding crab exoskeletons (those are not bodies--those critters molt regularly!). Overall distance along the beach was 1.13 miles.
The forest loop was the return leg. The forest loop meanders up and down through Doug fir, cedar, alder, and maple forest. There was Himalayan blackberry in varying stages of ripeness, and fall color is beginning to emerge. The trail is a bit slippery in places, but manageable for the most part. I measured the length of the loop as 0.94 miles (not 0.6 as signed) with a gain of 357 feet for a one-way trip.
