I took my Pack goats Grant, Albert, Bryce and Kahlua for an overnight trip to Grasshopper Pass from the Brown Bear trailhead south of Harts Pass.
We had blue skies and nice fall color. The Larch are turning yellow. Some are still green, but many have a nice yellow color.
There is a small stream about 3 ½ miles from the trailhead a little ways below the trail in a nice basin.
Friday evening, we camped near Grasshopper pass. Saturday, we continued on south on the PCT and then followed the ridge partway to Grasshopper Peak. Friday, we saw a few other people on the trail, naturally Saturday was busier. About 10 PCT through hikers passed me on their way to the boarder, plus quite a few day hikers.
Beautiful hike!

Was the small stream the only water source you encountered on your route?
