Nolte State Park — Friday, Oct. 1, 2021

Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410

Nolte State Park is a gem of a park in Enumclaw at Deep Lake. It was a beautiful forested resort before being donated to the park service. I started my day with a walk at Sunrise (Mount Rainier) and stopped here on my way home. Bathrooms are open and stocked, plenty of parking and you can bring your dog ! Discover Pass is required here.

There is a 1.4 mile trail around Deep Lake that is graded nicely and wide enough for easy passage. It's really a gorgeous walk. There's a pet station, too, so you're covered if you forget a bag for the pup. Birding is good here too ! There are picnic tables and playground equipment as well.

It's not a long walk but a wonderful option as the season slips toward winter.
