We had a beautful hike up to Clara Lake to see the larches. Although this trail is rated easy by WTA, I would go with All Trails Moderate rating because it is uphill most of the way and has some rocky parts that must be maneuvered. I was glad I had both my walking sticks, especially coming back downhill. The larches were beautful and the lake a little icy because of snowfall the previous night. Definitely worth the trip! And bring your sticks!

We were there yesterday too. That first mile is steepish but it's worth the trek!
