My friend & I were originally planning to head to the Kettle Crest for a fall camping trip, but the weather forecast made us reconsider and we settled for a dayhike to check out the fall colors at Fishtrap instead. The rain held off for us and we were rewarded with some spectacular fall colors! There are some fantastic aspen groves along this trail, and I'm always so happy if I can time it right to see them in full golden glow. We definitely timed it right today, and hopefully it will last for another week or two.
We hiked the North Loop starting & finishing from the south Miller Ranch Road TH. Lots of hunters (both bird & deer) were out today. We timed our visit mid-morning to miss the majority of the hunters, but still saw several near the road & two on the trail. Be sure to check the open seasons & wear lots of hunter orange/pink for a fall visit.

Ahhhhhh--aspens were what I was seeing so many of around the Colville Res yesterday (along with larches and ponderosa pines)! Thanks for sharing this awesome trip report.
