Trip Report

Garfield Ledges — Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

When your friends are as crazy as you are - you are living a good life. I proposed a costumed hike today as Halloween is approaching. And, of course, it rained - so we decided to do a quick up and down at Garfield Ledges.

The road in is beautiful and generally in good condition (the downed tree that the previous trip reporter mentioned has been cleared), but there are a few stretches that are really pot-holy. The biggest pot hole is just past the bridge as you arrive at the parking lot for Garfield Ledges. There was a big digger working there today and he seemed to be trying to fill it in some.

The hike is a lovely, steady uphill hike in the woods. The whole thing is pretty, but there are a few particularly pretty spots with moss, views, interesting root balls, etc.

The view from the top is beautiful, even in the fog and rain. We had fun snagging some costumed photos at the top before making our way back down. The trail is in great shape with a few muddy spots, but that's it. No downed trees or anything. You get a pretty big payoff for relatively little effort on this gem of a trail.

Happy Halloween!
