The colors on the deciduous trees were still well tricked out and we were treated to a beautiful Fall hike on Oct. 31. The day was sunny and bright. On the north shore of the lake we were warm despite cool temps and sporadic breezes. The trail was in very good shape, the intermittent creeks to cross were running full from the recent rains. Still, there was little muddiness and brush to obstruct our way. The falls at the northeast end of the lake was our lunch and turn around spot. There was enough distance in the 9 1/2 miles and up and down of about 1200 ft. along the way to make this a good work out.
