If you don’t mind a LONG drive, this is a beautiful trail. It literally feels like someone rolled out the red carpet. Very smooth with gentle ups and downs. We started at the lower falls rec area and stopped for lunch at the upper falls.
Last fall I hiked this trail through slushy puddles and got soaked inside and out. Today, the trees protected us from most of the rain and there were no puddles so feet stayed dry and warm.
This trail is good if you love waterfalls, mushrooms and big trees.

I hate that long drive so I always stay at the campground....lol Plus I like to go to the falls just before dark when it is peaceful. Looks like you timed a great day though and got to enjoy it. Great pics and reminds me how awesome some places in this state remain. So many cool options in that area.

Camping is an excellent idea! This was my 3rd fall hike there and I’ve never seen more than a handful of people. I think we saw 3 hikers the whole time.
