Got out early this am before the rains began. We started up the Cable route at 0730. The trail is muddy of course but no running water. There are so many trails being created to stay away from the trenches that have the cable running through. This trail has really gotten wider each season. Hung out at the new summit for awhile taking in the many views in the valley and distance, including the base of Rainier. Headed down the regular WT3 trail and luckily did not hit any rain until close to the end which was just drizzle. There is one large Big Leaf Maple in the last 0.5 mile that had fallen over the trail which has been cut and cleared. Lots of cars in the upper lot. The frontage road was not as crowded. No evidence of car break ins, etc. today. Glad to get out for a workout before the atmospheric river runs thru.
