Mount Si — Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Mount Si by runnerchuck

a nice day-hike today - one of the few where there’s no snow in the parking load/road leading up to it but there’s plenty of snow as you hike up the trail! The parking lot has a ton of potholes and needs a discovery pass but any car can make it for sure. The hike itself starts in switchbacks and is snow free. It’s pretty easy up to a clearing with a bench and a little outlook and the trail starts to climb through switchbacks and the snow accumulates. Fully under tree cover up to the very top. It got really really cold today so definitely layer up! The snow is packed and fresh so we didn’t use spikes but some people had them. Most didnt. At the top, the trail opens onto the last rocky summit that is covered with a ton of fresh snow. Most people turned around here but we ventured further to the top “peak”. Not much of a view today because of the clouds and very icy/slippery on this part. There are also some cute birds around hoping for crumbs :)

The way back down is more slippery but straight forward. We did loose a phone on the hike so please keep an eye out!
