Tolt Pipeline Trail — Friday, Dec. 31, 2021

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Mt Baker north

Walked the west end of the Tolt Pipeline trail early Friday morning in the sunshine.  No trail issues along this section other than some of the hills are slippery with the snow, (though excellent for sledding!) and watch for traffic while crossing roads along the route.  There is no dedicated parking on this route though many of the cross streets provide on street parking.  No public restrooms available.

The trail remains typical utility easement, wide and relatively flat though this bit has several hills.  Much of the trail is bordered by suburban development though there are some more forested areas.  A few peekaboo views of the mountains are available on a clear day if you pay attention. Not much to write home about, but a nice walk especially in the snow if you are in the area.  Pizza Bank on the corner of 124th Ave and NE 144th St makes a great stop for some post walk carb loading.  Happy new year.

Where do you park closest to that hill?

parking

That hill is between 124th Ave and 130th Ave, there is a little kinda marginal shoulder parking on 130th and a few even more dicey shoulder spots on the west side of 124th. A safer option might be to park at the Kingsgate library and walk the sidewalk north along 124th about a half mile to the trail then head east.
