Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal
Blowdowns every 30-40 feet

Spent 3+ hours clearing branches/smaller trees off the trail. Many blowdowns, 2-3 fallen trees have uprooted and ripped out wide sections of narrow trail- very difficult to safely navigate across these sections. Lots of fallen trees across the trail that will need chainsaw/crosscut to remove. Snow was knee deep towards the top, where the trail meets the service road. There were no visible ribbons or tree markings to follow, so I lost the trail and turned back.

Postholing fun

Thank you for your input and for clearing what trail debris you could. We may try this one next Saturday, depending on the conditions. I also like to take the time to clear branches off the trail as it helps other hikers.
