A short hike up today to Pratt Balcony. Had a late start around 2:30pm. The Middlefork area was somewhat busy, we also observed a King County SAR crew near the pull out parking area. Also on the way out parked at the Bessemer road pull out. Hopefully they were just doing some routine training.
The way up to the Pratt Balcony hasn't changed much since my last trip in December, however what difference I did notice was quite a few blowdowns on both the CCC and approach up Pratt. Which is pretty much the norm in the Middlefork this year. All were easily negotiable with some poles.
Slightly buggy as Spring has arrived, but nothing too bad. The fire rings at the Balcony and old hut area appeared to have some recent use. We encountered 1 hiker on the way down.
