Camano Island State Park — Saturday, Apr. 2, 2022

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Pacific Madrone

From the large parking lot near the boat launch, we headed north along the beach, and then followed the Loop Trail clockwise back to the start.

Access. Paved road and parking lot.

Conditions. No issues with any of the trails.

Fauna. Orcas in the Saratoga Passage. Bald eagles, incl a nest.

Crowds. Couple of people, mostly around the day use and camping areas, but the place felt empty, perhaps due to the large number of parking spots and picnic tables.

North Beach at ~3ft

Terrierpup on Camano Island State Park

Does anyone know if that beached gray whale is here? Or another beach?

I don't know where exactly the beached whale is, but if it was in a state park, I think the local news would have mentioned that...

It was on King5 news/YouTube but no one answer me yet. I want to take a pic of it before it get gross. Seems like there are houses near it and I am not sure where exactly it is. If someone would answer it would save me some gas. 😗
