Caught the 9 am ferry to Clinton and got to the lower trailhead by the beach close to 10 am. There were 10 cars or so in the lot and along the road. Bathroom clean and in great condition. We hiked the loop up the bluff and down to the beach, counterclockwise. The sun was out and the wind was cool so good to have a shell of some sort. The views in the area are like looking at a box of crayola crayons, Pacific Northwest edition on a sunny day. The shades on blues, greens, greys, and browns are breathtaking! It’s like you are walking in a piece of artwork. Just so beautiful! There weren’t too many people on the trail and there was plenty of space between small groups. Saw a couple of eagles soaring over the bluff. The tide was out so no concerns with beach path access (I’ve never experienced this trail with a tide high enough to loose access). The wildflowers are just starting to bloom and we only saw 3 or 4 different types. The trail got a little more crowded when we got back to the car but not too bad. Had lunch on the beach and gazed at the Olympics with all the fresh snow. Stunning day. Only had to wait 1/2 hour for a ferry on the way home at 2 pm. (I was concerned about possible long lines).
