Puget Sound and Islands > Whidbey Island

What a beautiful trail! I wanted a wildflower hike in the sunshine with less than a 3 hour drive from Seattle, and this one was perfect. If you park near the cemetery, there is one small lot for about 7 cars you come to first. If this is full, don't worry! There is a larger lot just past this one with two very clean pit toilets.

Some beautiful flowers already blooming and more will come in the next few weeks. Lupine are just starting to bloom. TONS of birds in this area, made me really regret forgetting my binoculars! If I were to do this trail again, I would just stay high on the ridge and backtrack instead of going down to walk along the water. I enjoyed it for a bit, but the beach is very rocky and got to be tiresome towards the end. Beautiful views either way!
