Change Peak — Sunday, May. 1, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Approach to Change Peak from south

Wanted to post an update on snow conditions for Change Peak. Did a loop up to Mount Washington then along the ridgeline to Change Peak and down from there back to the Great Wall trail and back to the main Mt Washington trail. Brought snowshoes and had to use them as soon as I descended the ridgeline from Mount Washington. I could see faint snowshoe tracks but otherwise the trail was completely untracked until I reached the Mount Washington trail again. It was a cloudy but warm day so snow was slushy by the afternoon. I don't recommend attempting Change Peak without snowshoes until it melts out some more or you're more willing than I am to posthole for many miles. Otherwise there weren't any other obstacles outside of some downed trees on the Mount Washington trail that were easy to navigate. This is a nice snowshoe and I usually do it once a year when I want to get away from people. Didn't see many people even on Mount Washington and saw no one on the trail off the main route.
