Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Saturday, May. 28, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

Hiked the Granite Creek Connector trail up to Granite Lake. Got to the trailhead at 11:30 and the parking lots were packed, got lucky and managed to get the last spot at the trailhead. The Connector trail is gorgeous, not too much elevation gain, beautiful forest, and some great views. The last mile or so before Thompson Lake fork is a little boring - none of the plants are blooming there yet, but the lack of foliage gives you better views across the valley so it's not all bad. Snow starts up right after the fork, not too bad at the start but it gets heavier as the trail moves along. The last quarter mile before the lakes is all snow and the trail isn't clearly marked, there were half a dozen boot paths leading in all different directions, some of which went over what looked like very rocky areas. I post-holed a few times and could see plenty of places where others had too. Overall it was a great hike, and I can't wait to come back in a couple months when the snow has all melted and the flowers are blooming.
