We were able to hike Lake 22 on a Thursday morning so crowds were quite manageable. There were only about 7 cars at the trailhead when we arrived around 9AM. Most of the trail was in great condition with the sound of running water from numerous waterfalls and small streams keeping us company along the trail. The slide area was very easy to ascend and we only found snow on the trail for the last quarter mile or so. I appreciated having hiking poles in this section but people were managing just fine without them. There were a few areas where water crossed the trail so waterproof boots are recommended. We didn't see any avalanches from Mt Pilchuck at the lake but there are many waterfalls to be seen as the snow melts on the mountain. Stunning day and hike!
