Manastash Ridge - Westberg Trail — Saturday, Jun. 11, 2022

A lovely hike!  The trail, as many others have noted, is quite steep. I went up the Boy Scout trail and down Westberg- I prefer sweating in the shade rather than in the sun.  I enjoyed both paths and think doing a loop, either clockwise or counterclockwise, is a good idea.  There are many side trails/game paths, but I didn't find it confusing or difficult to stay on the main path. I also had cell service the entire time, so it would be easy to mark your progress with the Alltrails app if necessary. I saw a pygmy short-horned lizard at the top!
