Beautiful shady hike.
Road is rutted but fine.
Uphill softly - no need to stop and catch my breath, and shortly past the mineshaft there was icy snow - couldn't go on without light ice shoe attachments - which I'd left at home seeing trip reports that the trail wasn't icy. My bad. .
Went back to the trail to the plane wreckage - steep trail, good condition. Near the first plane parts the trail was indecipherable in the snow. Snow was walkable but I was unprepared to go off trail so I turned around. Could have gone further and backtracked but it wasn't worth it as a solo hiker.
Would love to try again when the snow is gone from the trail.
Saw one person the whole day.
Lots of icicles and frozen easy to walk ground. Gorgeous creek crossings. Quiet and shady on a sunny day with peek views of snowcapped peaks.
