Hiked Mt Townsend on 04-18. Road to trailhead is snow-free. The trail is snow-free to about 3,800ft. After that, snow is intermittent until maybe 4,500ft and then the trail is mostly snow covered. We put on ice spikes. The snow is compacted and firm with a well-worn boot track. Some sections became a bit slippery on the way down as it warmed up. In the snow easy to miss a turn. Stay right at the junction with path to Snow Lake and right at the junction with the trail to Silver Lake. Glorious views from the top as always. Baker, Shuksan, Glacier Peak, Rainier, St Helens, and Adams were all visible to the east (full disclosure, I couldn't see Adams, but others said they could). Brothers, Constance, Mystery, Deception to the south. Needles, Walkinshawk, Gray Wolf, Baldy, Tyler to the west.
