PSA: Mima Mounds gate now closing at 5:00 p.m. What had potential for a beautiful evening walk with spring flowers was shortened by a closed gate at Mima Mounds and rain. We were prepared to deal with rain but didn't know about the early time for closing - 5:00 p.m. There was some serious vandalism there this winter, the area just re-opened after repairs, and I suspect they are closing the area early to protect it.

i'm sure there's a reason but gosh darn do i hate the idea that the great outdoors has closing hours more stringent than a dentist office, in any season.
seeing the sunset shouldn't be illegal.
