Got out and found a suitable early-season hike in the only part of the state (desert included) that wasn’t supposed to get rain. Wildflowers were out in FORCE. I was able to identify 15 different species. Most of the action is in the first 2 miles, ending with a good amount of Glacier Lily at the north fork crossing 2.5 miles in. Still about 1-2 weeks early for the fireweed to be blooming.
Other than that, it’s a pretty flat creek side hike through a recent burn. There are lots of tiny trees starting to pop through the fireweed sea along portions of the trail. Give it another 5 years and it’ll start to look like a forest again
