Trip Report

Mount Ellinor — Saturday, May. 11, 2024

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal
Mount Ellinor by Midwest2PNW

Road up to the Upper TH nearly melted out, parked about 0.4 miles from the actual lot. I suspect you will be able to drive all the way in a day or two.

Beautiful day out on Ellinor with clear skies and warm temps. The chute up to the top is steep (plus two false summits) but absolutely worth it for the glissade back down.

Post holes weren't a huge issue as we started our early. However there is one section that was melting out fast with larger holes showing the fast water running just below.

Gear: Wore crampons and an ice ax.

Kulshan, Glacier Peak, Tahoma, Adams and Helens all visible from the summit.
