Annette Lake — Friday, May. 17, 2024

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Annette Lake with Humpback Mtn behind

Getting to the parking lot required careful navigating through about 1/3 mile of potholes but there were less than a dozen cars in the lot. The trail was in very good condition after the extensive work done last year (many new steps, better tread, etc). However there were a couple of trees across the trail just before the Palouse to Cascades trail.

Intermittent snowbanks began at the top of the switchbacks - about 3600', with hiking poles and good tread on your boots helpful in places. From this point it is about 3/4 mile to the lake on a more or less level hillside trail.  The lake itself is still mostly covered by snow and ice but with clear spots near the shore. Most camping spots are snow-free due to tree cover.

Nice local views of this small lake basin between Silver Peak and Humpback Mtn. It needs connecting trails to both the Silver Peak trail and to the top of Humpback ridge.
