Started the hike up to Marmot Pass at 10:30am with a pretty full parking lot, but only saw a handful of people on the trail. The first part up to Camp Mystery is impeccably maintained and a joy to hike. Snow started somewhat consistently after that, but even microspikes might be overkill - though it is consistent, there is a boot path and it is pretty doable to cross in trail runners up to Marmot Pass. Our dog was not having as easy of a time on the snow as we were, so we ended up turning around just before the pass to give her post-holing tiny legs a break. From talking to other hikers, the route up Buckhorn is clear right now. We were so lucky to have nice, cool weather and wonderful views despite a cloudy day and will be back for Buckhorn soon!
