Baldy — Saturday, Jun. 8, 2024

This trail is relentless and up and up! Minimal blowdowns on the trail. Mostly completely snow free until east baldy, but can skirt the edge of it and not hike in the snow. Brought mountaineering boots and ice axe unsure of the conditions, both not needed. Water source- spring at 5800 is flowing well. We camped on the summit of baldy, two other groups had the same idea for a Friday night! There’s a little bit of snow near the summit could melt but not sure how much longer that will be around. Was ambitious thinking we would add in Graywolf or Tyler, not this trip! First big overnight trip of the season and the legs were spent. Great alternative to the ever popular Marmot Pass this time of year.
