Russell Ridge, Ironstone Mountain — Sunday, Jun. 9, 2024

This was a great adventure for my family of four (husband, myself and two teenagers). Russell Ridge Trail 1111 from the Andy Creak TH is rather steep and had no obstacles. Trail 1141 (Ironstone Mountain) had several large patches of soft snow that we punched through multiple times. My guess is that it will be clear in another week or two. We had to use All Trails and orange spray paint markers to navigate the trail to Fox Meadow. Beyond Fox Meadow it was clear and the orange markers were gone. We navigated up and down Ironstone Mountain from the marked trail using our best judgement as there isn't a designated trail. The views at the top were incredible. We had great weather and enjoyed the views. Saw several butterflies and wildflowers along the way.
