Iron Bear - Teanaway Ridge — Friday, Jun. 14, 2024

PSA: Iron Bear Peak is not on Iron Bear Trail 1361. Parking at TH at the end of FS 9714, is the start of 1361 which leads to an unnamed peak. One way to get up to Iron Bear Peak, is to start on 1361, which eventually comes to a fork meeting up with Teanaway Ridge Trail 1364. Take that fork up hill! Hike was great! One motorcycle, super kind, friendly, respectful, and safe. A couple horses. 3 trail runners. Less than 10 hikers all day. Everyone was just perfect today on trail.  Zero bugs because enough breeze. I sprayed shoes/socks with tick repellent and wore light mosquito repellent lotion - didn't need any of that. Beautiful birds at the top with green, blue, yellow, and red colors. Do this hike, pack layers for breezy pass and Peak. I stayed 3.5 hours at the peak and had a summit Bear, lunch, and a toke while bird watching. Fantastic day.
