I’m visiting from the Seattle area and needed to get outdoors! I hiked counterclockwise up to the Butte and finished the loop via the West End primitive trail. The ‘non primitive’ section is wide and an easy climb. Even with the stormy weather (hail, rain, and wind) the sweeping views were pleasant. The primitive trail was not bad either - just more overgrown and you have to watch you step over rocks and roots. If you choose to follow this path, you will want long pants. Overall, it was a nice hike - don’t be fooled by the trailhead sign stating that this combined loop is “difficult”.
